I am so excited to share these sunrise engagement photos on the blog today! Not only is it beautiful, but Rachel is a close friend from the photography community! Rachel and I met through Instagram and have become friends over the past year and a half! She is a fellow senior and wedding photographer. Be sure to check out her work or follow her on Instagram if you’d like!
Rachel and her fiancé, Brett, met through work. He teaches music at Eagan High School, and she works at Eagan as a choreographer and dance coach there. They crossed paths in 2014 and slowly became friends over the years. They officially began dating in the summer of 2017 (which their students were very excited about). I can’t wait for their summer wedding at Brackett’s Crossing Country Club in Lakeville, Minnesota next June!
When Rachel and I began planning their engagement session, she was determined to have nice weather for their shoot. She suggested we do sunrise engagement photos, because it would be easier for us to reschedule due to weather if needed. I am so glad we chose this plan! The temperature was so much cooler than most July evenings, and Centennial Lakes Park was virtually empty! Also, the light was perfect, which made getting up at 5 AM totally worth it. I hope more couples opt to do sunrise engagement sessions after seeing how beautiful it can turn out.
Shooting photos for a fellow photographer was so wonderful, because Rachel had scouted out good locations in advanced. Between that and knowing how to pose, these two were naturals in front of the camera. I am so excited to get to capture exciting milestones like this for my friends. Check out some of my favorites from Rachel and Brett’s session below.
