1. Brooke Elisabeth Studio (Ramsey, MN)
Brooke Elisabeth Studio is my very own gorgeous natural light studio located on our property in Ramsey, Minnesota. The studio features white walls, white floors, and large floor-to-ceiling windows that create soft, timeless images year-round.
The studio is always free for my portrait clients to use when available, making it a perfect option for families who want a clean, elevated look without worrying about weather. I also rent the studio to other creatives for sessions, and content creators. Book your rental here!

– A nearby open field in Ramsey (just 1 minute away)
– Hansen Tree Farm (permit required)
If you love a light, airy, editorial look with minimal distractions, this is an ideal choice.
2. Elm Creek Park Reserve (Maple Grove / Champlin, MN)
Elm Creek Park Reserve is hands down one of my favorite locations for fall family portraits. The park offers wide grassy fields, beautifully mowed trails, and some of the most stunning fall color in the Twin Cities.
There’s plenty of room for kids to move, play, and explore, which makes sessions here feel especially relaxed and natural.
Close second: Bunker Hills Regional Park – very similar vibes if you’re looking for another fall option.
3. Wayzata Beach (Wayzata, MN)
Wayzata Beach is one of my go-to locations for summer and early fall sessions. It offers the perfect mix of beachy lake views and natural surroundings.
This location is best photographed just before sunset, when the light is soft and golden over Lake Minnetonka.
Bonus tip: Make a night of it and grab dinner afterward at 6Smith or COV – both are local favorites and a fun way to end your session.
4. Arneson Acres Park (Edina, MN)
Arneson Acres Park is a charming, smaller park that offers a beautiful balance of manicured gardens and natural scenery.
You’ll find a classic fountain, seasonal flower beds, and a gorgeous tree line surrounding the park. This location is perfect if you want something polished but not overly formal – a great middle ground between full-on nature and structured gardens.
5. Lyndale Park Rose Garden (Minneapolis, MN)
Lyndale Park Rose Garden is one of my favorite locations in Minneapolis when flowers are in bloom. With fountains, walking paths, and views near the lake, it’s an incredibly romantic and classic setting.
Best timing: Late spring to early summer. By mid-summer and early fall, the flowers are typically no longer in bloom, so timing here really matters!
