Santa is coming to town—and you get to meet him right here in Minneapolis, MN!
Preparing Your Kids
Minneapolis Santa Pictures: A little preparation can make a big difference in making your children feel comfortable and excited about meeting Santa.
- A few days before your session, start talking about Santa. Share stories about who Santa is and why he’s such a special part of the holiday season. Use favorite storybooks, holiday movies, or cherished family traditions to make Santa a beloved and familiar figure in your home.
- Explain What to Expect: Help your children understand what will happen during their visit. Let them know they’ll get to meet Santa, share their wish list with him, and have their photo taken. This can help ease any nervousness they may feel by making the experience feel predictable and fun.
- Ensure your children get a good night’s sleep before the session. A well-rested child is more likely to be in a good mood and cooperative.
- Healthy Snacks: Give them a light meal or snack before arriving, but avoid colorful or messy foods. This helps keep their energy levels steady without risking any spills or stains on their outfits.
What to wear: Outfit edition

Choosing the perfect outfit for your little one can enhance the magic of their visit with Santa, creating beautiful memories that will last a lifetime. Here are some helpful do’s and don’ts to ensure your child looks adorable and feels comfortable during their session.
Do’s:
- Opt for traditional holiday colors like red, green, white, and gold. These colors are festive and photograph beautifully.
- Choose classic patterns such as plaid, stripes, or polka dots. These designs are not only festive but also timeless and elegant.
- Adding layers like a cute cardigan, vest, or scarf can add depth and interest to the outfit. Textures like lace, knit, or velvet also add a charming touch.
- Soft, cozy materials like cotton, velvet, or knit will keep your child comfortable and happy throughout the session.
Dont’s:
- Avoid outfits with big pictures or phrases (like “Merry Christmas”, “Ho Ho Ho” or cartoon characters) can distract from your child’s sweet expressions and the overall holiday theme.
- Avoid busy patterns.
- Say No to neon colors. Neon colors can be too harsh and detract from the warm, cozy feel of holiday photos.
- Outfits that are too big or too small can look sloppy. Choose well-fitting clothes to ensure your child looks neat and comfortable.
What to wear: Pajama edition
Do’s:
- Opt for timeless patterns like plaid, stripes, or solid colors. These designs are not only festive but also photograph beautifully.
- Choose pajamas that complement each other if you have multiple children.
- Small, non-competing prints like tiny stars, snowflakes, or reindeer can add a touch of holiday spirit without overwhelming the photo.
Dont’s:
- Avoid Large Graphics or Words.
- Try to steer clear of busy or clashing patterns. Those complicated designs can end up stealing the spotlight from your little one
- Avoid materials that might be itchy or uncomfortable, as this can make your child fidgety and unhappy during the session.
What to expect meeting Santa:

Our Santa is wonderful at making children feel at ease. Whether your child is shy, excited, or a bit nervous, Santa will engage with them in a gentle and fun way. I encourage natural interactions. Santa might read a story, listen to wish lists, or share a laugh with your child.
During the photoshoot, I will capture a variety of poses and candid moments. We aim for a mix of individual shots with Santa, sibling photos, and family portraits.
What if my child cries ?

If your child cries during the Santa Experience session, please don’t worry! It’s entirely normal for children to feel overwhelmed or apprehensive in new situations, especially when meeting someone as magical as Santa Claus. Sometimes those teary moments turn into the sweetest memories captured on camera. So, I wouldn’t worry one bit. Your child will be in good hands, and the magic of the moment will shine through regardless.
